This morning we celebrated the hard work and success of our students as they collected their eagerly-awaited A-level results. Of all grades awarded, 40% were A*-B and an average grade of a Distinction was achieved by those studying applied subjects. This marks another year of improved grades at the sixth form, reflecting the significantly improved Ofsted report received in March when the school was graded as 'Good' in all areas.
Many students secured grades that unlocked places at their first-choice universities and as ever, there were some exceptional individual performances, including:
- Jessica Langley who earned an A* in Geography, A in Maths and an A in Biology. She will now go on to study Conservation Biology.
- Luke Ruijgvoorn will study Business Management after being awarded an A* in Business, an A in Law and Geography, and a B in History.
- Thomas Ruijgvoorn also achieved an A* in Business and three Bs in Law, History and English Literature. He will now go on to study History at university.
- Samuel Gibson was another high flier, securing an A* in Busines, an A in History a B in Law.

Lindsay Maughan, Headteacher at Hermitage Academy, commented: “Today we are not only celebrating the excellent results of our students, but the qualities that led to their successes – hard work, determination and resilience. Throughout their time with us, they have worked so hard to continuously improve and unlock their chosen next steps in life. I am so pleased to be able to celebrate with them today and I wish them the very best of luck for their bright futures.”
