GCSE results to shout about!

Date Published:

We are celebrating here at Hermitage Academy today as Year 11 students finally received their eagerly-awaited GCSE results this morning. After a successful A level results day last week, the celebrations kept coming as this time, Year 11 students’ hard work and resilience was reflected in a superb set of results.

We are incredibly proud, more than ever, of our students for how they have coped and navigated their way through uncertain times throughout the pandemic. Both the dedication of students and staff has been rewarded with a set of results to be extremely proud of. We are absolutely delighted that many students will progress to our sixth form to continue their education with us at A level.

Many students achieved exceptional personal results and we are thrilled to celebrate their hard work with them. Special mention goes to top performances from:

  •         Head Girl Jessica Langley, who achieved a stunning set of Grade 9s across the board.
  •         Antonia Johnson who also bagged a clean sweep of the top Grade 9 in all of her subjects.
  •         Ben Myers achieved an amazing three Grade 9s, six Grade 8s and two Grade 7s.

Superb results were also achieved by Megan Wilkinson, Erin Waugh, Chloe Tiffen, who received a host of Grade 8s and 9s across the subjects they studied. Matthew Brain and Jordan Zheng also achieved a sheet full of high grades.

We would also like to give special mention to the performances of Grace Tucker, Lewis Allison, Hannah Thomas, Grace Cassidy, Luke Ruijgvoorn, Joshua Thynne, Ryan Atkinson, Katie Storey, Lois Thompson, Caitlin Atkinson, Tyler Evans, and Daniel Dixon.

Our Head of School, Darren Stewart, said:

“There is so much to be admired about our students who, at last, can celebrate all of their hard work and grit with a collection of excellent and well-deserved GCSE grades. The strength they have demonstrated during this time has been exceptional. Dr Gorlach and I would like to thank our parents/carers and our staff and governors for their constant support to our students.

We are all very proud of them and excited to see how they progress in the future.”
