Please join us in celebrating the inpsirational work of one of our Year 7 students, Charlie, who has gone above and beyond to raise money for a local charity close to his heart.
Charlie has now raised over £20,000 for 'Changing Faces' through a variety of fundraising challenges after being supported by the charity when he was younger.
Charlie's work has recently caught the attention of the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, and he has awarded Charlie with the 'Points of Light' award; an award that celebrates an outstanding volunteer or charity leader for their inspirational service.
The Prime Minister will now write to Charlie, personally thanking him for his fundraising work. He will also receive a certificate, and an announcement about his award has been published on the Points of Light website here.
Our Headteacher, Mrs Maughan, commented: "This is a remarkable achievement and we are incredibly proud of Charlie and the fundraising he has carried out. A huge well done from all staff and students at Hermitage Academy."
