We are very excited to be exploring the Geography department for this week's 'A Look Inside' feature.
Year 7
Year 7 students have created wonderful world maps that show global distribution and analyse population pyramids to explain how they can represent wealth. See Caitlin and Olly's work pictured below.
Year 8
Students in Year 8 have been looking at climate change. The books below from Gracie and Harry are just two examples of the brilliant posters made in and out of lessons, showing the possible ways that we can reduce the impacts of climate change.
Year 9
Lucy in Year 9 can always be depended on to create some beautiful work as seen below. In one book she has analysed carbon capture as a method of adapting to climate change and in the other, she has discussed the different factors that control British weather.
Year 10
Year 10 are looking at development and how to reduce the north-south divide just as the government publishes its white paper. We may have future leaders of the country in the Geography department...
Year 11
In our after-school GCSE revision, a selection of students extended their learning with some new A Level content; viewing the coast as a system. They then applied their new knowledge to an 8 mark exam question on coastal spits. Some excellent geographical knowledge, terminology and skills used by all.
A-level
At A-level, our students in Year 12 have been brushing up on their knowledge of geomorphological processes, to be able to explain the formation of a range of erosional and depositional features at the coast. Excellent detail and presentation of work by Grace are pictured below.
