Last night we welcomed Year 5 and 6 pupils from a range of feeder primary schools, along with their families, to experience our school once more at our mini open evening. The evening was a resounding success with over 350 visitors attending!

Year 10 and 12 students led the evening and escorted visitors around curriculum areas, encouraged everyone to sample our lunch menus and explore the range of rewards on offer. Parents/carers and students listened to a presentation given by Mr Stewart, our Head of School, who spoke about our high standards and expectations, our exceptional pastoral care and curriculum.

Curriculum Leaders were on hand to outline our Key Stage 3 curriculum and showcase examples of current Year 7 work. Our current students were excited to discuss their experiences in subject areas and also talked knowledgeably to parents/carers about what it is like as a Hermitage Academy student.

Alongside this, music students from Years 8 to 13 entertained guests and our Year 12 students thoroughly enjoyed the happy faces of our younger guests when they chose a free book from a range of best-selling authors.

Feedback on the evening was incredibly positive with parents/carers and prospective students valuing a further opportunity to get to know faces around our school, to familiarise themselves with the school site and to gather excitement for the next step in their educational journey.

Now that all secondary school places have been offered and in the process of being accepted, we will commence our transition programme and look forward to many more opportunities to meet our future students and their families over the coming months.
