January Head of Year Awards

Date Published:
Friday 04 February 2022

We are skipping into the weekend with some marvellous news; two students from each year group have achieved an exciting new award; the Head of Year award.

At the end of every month, our Heads of Year will choose two students from their year group to win an award. The winners will get the honour of being on the website and also a prize of their choice; varying from privileges in school (such as a dedicated spot on the astroturf) to a free stationery supply.

Well done to our January winners detailed below.

Year 7

Millie has made a fantastic start to Year 7 and has taken the transition to secondary school in her stride. Millie is a hardworking conscientious student who really enjoys English and music and has received praise cards from several of her teachers. She has received 100 Laurea stamps and lapel badges for maths and technology. Millie enjoys dance and has been part of the extracurricular community at school. Yet, she still finds time for her Rowing, in which she has a regatta at the weekend. Well done Millie.

Marvin is an exceptional student at Hermitage, who consistently applies himself across the curriculum. He is always smart by exceeding uniform standards and prepared to learn. He is a happy, polite member of the community who is trusted amongst his peers. He has been noted as the ‘smiling goalkeeper’ for his contributions in PE, where his humorous and positive attitude is valued. I have chosen Marvin for the Head of Year award due to his resilience and stamina in his ability to demonstrate our standards across the board!

Ella is a fantastic student who embodies our values at Hermitage Academy. She always gives 100% effort to all lessons across subjects, and her effort is demonstrated in her beautifully presented work – particularly in English!
