Year 7
Olivia has been nominated for Head of Year award for her outstanding approach to learning this whole term. Olivia is consistently hard working, and just one glance in her books would tell you that! Her presentation is beautiful and reflects her brilliant effort. Not only that, but she is also a conscientious student who is always looking out for others in the year group. She is thoughtful, kind and thoroughly deserves the recognition for it! Well done, Olivia!
Benjamin has been nominated for his fantastic resilience. Benjamin has continued to grow in confidence since he joined us in September. He is a valued member of Hermitage Academy, and his resilience is an influence on others. He has a brilliant sense of humour and is always engaging in all activities around school. Well done, Benjamin for the excellent attitude and resilience - it will stand you in good stead for the future!
Year 8
Jaymi is a quiet, kind young man who is an asset to the Year 8 community, Jaymi has shown how integral he is to the community by participating in student voice and also being a support buddy for new students who have joined the school. Throughout the month Jaymi's behaviour for learning has been outstanding. He has 91 positive points this last month alone, which is a reflection of Jaymi's brilliant attitude to learning A brilliant month Jaymi, well done on achieving the Head of Year Award for December, keep up the good work!
Isla has made an impressive start to the first term in Year 8. Teachers comment Isla is a polite young lady who has demonstrated a conscientious approach to learning, she is organised, punctual and a valued member of the Year 8 community. Isla has been particularly impressive during the month of December! Miss Sawyer has commented on the quality talking homework Isla has produced in PSHE. Isla's attitude to learning has been a significant strength, she has accumulated a huge number of points in a variety of different subjects. Year 9
Brooklyn has had a great first term in Year 9, achieving over 250 positive points, a fantastic achievement! Brooklyn has received his positive points for his attention to detail and his development of answers in lessons. Brooklyn is a keen footballer and spends all his free time playing, currently playing for Waldridge park. Therefore, it's no surprise that his favourite subject is PE. Keep up the great work Brooklyn. Well done!
Olivia is an extremely diligent student who has been enjoying her studies this year. Olivia has achieved over 200 positives across a wide range of subjects and is a great student to have in the classroom, always pushing herself to succeed. Olivia really enjoys her PE lessons and is a keen horse rider. She spends most of her weekends involved in dressage competitions. Keep up the great work on and off your horse Olivia. Well done!
Year 10
We have 3 winners in Year 10 this month as we simply could not choose.
It is a pleasure to award Emily the Head of Year award for December. Shy of the camera this time, Emily always has a smile for everyone, and is committed and motivated everyday. Emily has taken part in why does school activities such as the dance showcase at the gala and is one of our anti bullying ambassadors. Emily is always on hand to support her friends, other students and the school. We hope to see Emily on our school leadership next year as she has all the right qualities of a future leader.
Aston has been given the head of year award for December due to the incredible amount of achievement points he has received over the month. He has also been awarded the sports star award for year 11 and continues to improve and focus in the lead up to his GCSE studies. We hope that Aston too, will become one of our student leaders in Year 11.
Quiet and determined, Sophie has demonstrated a commitment to her studies since year 7. It was a pleasure to award Sophie December’s head of year award. Sophie fully commits herself to any subject, but she seems most at home in art. She has been awarded a number of lapel pins for her subject areas and we know she will continue with this success. Sophie can always be relied upon by both her friends and teachers, and we are sure she will become an excellent member of the Year 11 leadership team should she wish to do so.
Year 11
Emma is a polite and mature student who would do anything for anyone. She is extremely hard working and absolutely dedicated to her studies. Emma gives up a lot of her free time at lunch and after school to attend extra revision support sessions and has actually attended more of these than anyone in the year group! This hard work has been reflected in a set of really good mock GCSE grades and good and excellent behaviour for learning in every subject. As well as putting 100% into everything she does, Emma is so kind and caring and an absolutely amazing friend. We are so pleased that Emma is wanting to stay at Hermitage Academy for sixth form and study English and History. We know you will do really well Emma!
Dan is a conscientious student who always strives to improve. He has devoted a lot of his free time to attending revision and coursework support sessions and is one of the top attendees in Year 11. His hard work has done him justice, and his mock GCSE results are absolutely outstanding. Dan is one of our Year 11 prefects and supports with the Technology department. He has a passion for the subject and is wanting to study Engineering at university. Away from school, Dan is a talented drummer and proficient skier. He can't wait for the ski trip to Italy in February! He has also been busy recently, volunteering and carrying out work for his Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award too! We are so proud of you Dan, well done!
