Yesterday, we celebrated the Queen's Platinum Jubilee with a bake sale, bake-off competition and garden party.
Bake sale
There is nothing our students love more than a bake sale, and yesterday was no different. A huge £230 was made from sales at break time which will go towards planting a tree in each NELT school and, any extra will go to Young Lives vs Cancer.
A big thank you to all who donated a cake and to everyone who purchased a cake for the cause.
NELT bake off
The competition was hot in the NELT bake off this week. All schools were asked to create a 'show-stopper' cake to be judged by the public on Facebook. Although we did not win - we are super proud of our amazing cake. Have a look at our Facebook page to watch our very first reel about our cake or have a look at the photos below.
A huge thank you to the staff, who gave up a lot of time to make the amazing piece - Sheila, Mr Watkin, Mrs Pearce and Miss Marshall.
Garden party
After school, staff were invited to a jubilee themed garden party in the mindful garden. Staff from all departments enjoyed meeting up for some cake, coffee and catch up.
Library celebrations
In the library, students created crowns, coloured in Corgis, completed the Queen's Guards in dot-to-dots and found their way around the Platinum Jubilee Maze. On the Monday after the celebrations, they continued the crown theme in craft club and shared stories of all the events that took place over the holidays.
All in all, a fantastic day enjoyed by all. See photos of all events below.
