On the evening of Saturday 9 November Helen Chong, James Hall, Ben Fairley in Year 11 and Bobby Sample Year 9, were involved in the Festival of Remembrance concert held in the magnificent setting of Durham Cathedral. In front of an over eight hundred strong congregation Helen, James and Ben sang confidently performing songs from the musical Les Miserables as a part of the Durham Youth Connection Theatre Company.
As a member of 1507 Air Cadets based in Chester-Le-Street, Bobby was a part of the Muster Parade March during the event and was a proud representative of the cadets.
Other performers at the moving and poignant event included the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers Band, 102 Battalion REME Pipe Band, Durham ACF Band and Bugles, Enter CIC, the George Colley Singers, Hartlepool Community Choir and the North East Hindu Cultural Trust.
