Move over Torvill and Dean, Caitlin's in town!

Caitlin recently competed in a National ice skating competition at Advance Novice ladies level in Sheffield. She has just moved into this level after ageing out of Intermediate Novice level, despite only being able to compete once during lockdown. To qualify to compete, Caitlin had to pass two tests at her local rink, externally moderated by two judges from British ice skating.

At this new level, she now has to compete over two consecutive days with two separate programs including more difficult technical skills and components.

At the end of April, she competed in a category alongside 26 skaters from all over the UK and successfully placed 2nd - wow!

The day after, she took to the icy to skateher longer free programme and with combined scores, placed 6th overall.

Caitlin's final competition before she takes her GCSE’s will be held at Kirkaldy in Scotland this month, where she is aiming to beat her scores and gain points to progress to compete at Junior ladies level.

Once achieved, she will then be able to enter for a qualifying place at the British Ice Skating championships. We wish her the best of luck!
